The walk through above will help. Here is the basics.
No worries.
First here is an illustrated walkthrough on how to post images.
http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/forums/114916#946045
Next it is not you so much as the system has a bug. You know how to cut and paste an image tag?
Go to your uploaded image in the gallery.
Click on it to select or open it.
Right click on the opened image and copy the proprties tage you know. . . http:///kitmaker etc etc.
Then copy that tag by highlighting it and copying it to your clipboard.
Go to the thread in question , reply, add image brackets. . . [ img ] remove the text here about file etc.[ /img ]
Then paste your tag from the image between the brackets.
DO NOT USE the system method of clicking on the tags the site give you when you first open the image. It has the wrong info.
It is very easy once you get the knack. We all need a little help once in a while. Model On !

Hi: I have seen your work on the site, and I am impressed with what you have done. I need some help. I have tried to put photos from my members gallery into posts on the forum, and I have had no success. I have followed the instructions as I understood them, and I can't get it right. Can you help me figure this out, or point me in a direction that can help me make this work. I would appreciate it. thank you. . .
Ok forget anything else but try this.
Go to gallery open one of your images. right click and get the "properties"
it starts with http:....and ends with something like jpg or JPG or gif. . . Hightlight and save to your clipboard. Next go to the post where you want to have the image and put the image brackets in your post . . ."img" in brackets [ ] "/img" in brackets [ ] . Now in the space between these paste your URL from the clipboard. [img]. . . then the ending bracket set with /img in it.
This works. Just make sure the image tags are on each end. [img] at the beginning [/url] at the end.
