Hi David!

Your P-47 looks really good!

You have all the basics coverd, nice weathering, a clean and solid build.

But your decals have silverd badly for you, and that detracts from the whole.

My suggestion is that on your next aircraft build, try a gloss coat over the entire model, then the decals, and then a coat of matt or satin over the entire model.
Then you´ll get rid of the dreaded silvering.
As a last step you can do the weathering and give it a final top coat.

For stubborn decals, I´ll recommend the Micro-set (Blue bottle) and Micro-sol (Red Bottle) system.
Micro-set is a "soapy" solution and helps you to lessen the surface tension and place the decal easier on the model.
To get the decal to conform over compound surfaces and "melt down" over the details and panellines you simply brush some Micro-sol over the decal.
NEVER touch the decal after applying -sol, as this really melts the decal!
Usually the decal wrinkles and looks awful, just put the model down and leave for a few hours.
When you get back the decal will be smooth as it was painted on the surface!

Please don´t take this wrong, just trying to give some useful tips!
I have been there myself!

Looking forward to your next build!

Cheers!

Looks good for your first build, I like the weathering. As I am only a newbie as well I cannot add anything to the previous comments about the silvering.
Keep it up and like me I guess you learn as you go.

cheers

Hi David.
Nice T'bolt.
Frank Klibbe's "Little Chief" is certainly a popular scheme.
The basics are all there and its a good clean build. I can only echo whats already been said about the decals.
Some of the details arent correct but that would just be nit-picking
A solid build and once youve got some Microset/Sol you'll be there
