I've been through my refs and have noticed some P-38s have a landing light beneath the port wing where as others have it in the leading edge of the port wing.
I thought just the early models had the leading edge variety, but I've just found a photo of a 'J' model with the same! I'm guessing it depends on the factory where it was built?
In general where would a P-38J have a landing light?
