Just put the finishing touches on this morning. I really enjoyed building this one. Normaly I don't build 1/32, well, that is until recently for some reason. Only mishap along the way was having one of the landing lights come loose and lodging itself in the wing. I tried tapping, gentle shaking, tapping and shaking, tapping, shaking, and swearing, etc.. but it is there for the duration. Other than that and fighting to get the decals to lay down on the bottom over the ejection ports, it was a pleasant build. Thanks for looking, comments welcome. "Q":)

I like the desert colours and red spinner on a Spitfire, you have done it proud "Q"
Only thing that is out of place is the antenna wire. The Mk V had a VHF radio so the wire wasn't required, only the earlier Spits with HF sets had it. The nobly bit on the aerial is the mounting point for the pully which was only fitted to masts for HF sets, it was part of the manufacturing process and so wasn't deleted, the pully was a seperate item, so was. The IFF antenna are correct, although later in the war they were deleted as well because a different system came into service. Basically the change over happened at the same time as the head rest was deleted. So if you have a headrest in your model you shoukd have the IFF wires, if you don't then no IFF wires, simple really
Still a cracking Spitfire

Mal, thanks for the info. Will come in handy should I tackle another one of these in the future. Well, I will be building some more as I have several others on the shelves. I did about zero research on it before starting as I just wanted to get going with it. Now I know better. Seats, belts, arials, head-rests, azure blue...arrrgh. Oh well, I still enjoyed building it and I guess that is what it is all about. Thanks again for comments. "Q"

Great build, Q. Excellent finish. The markings and the desert camouflage go together very well and gives a nice contrast.
