spot polishing canopies

I realized that I had scratched a canopy with a sanding stick ,nothing to deep, but it is an area of the canopy that is difficult to reach with sanding sticks or paper. What compound(s) would you folks recommend to erase scratchs and polish the canopy?

Good old fashion paste type--- not gel type----toothpaste.

A used fabric softener sheet works excellent on bringing up a shine also, and helps repels the static cling inside the canopy after installing it.
