Me I have one and I secured it on my birthday on Monday
Now I know that Andy (betheyn) and Rowan (Merlin) are getting one but is there anyone else out there who has one or is about to get one?
I propose an unofficial Group Build of the MDC 1/32 scale Typhoon, I know that Andy and Rowan will be in, is there anybody else that would like to join us.
No pics just yet of mine because I can't actually get my hands on it just yet

That's great news Mal. I'm chuffed to bits that you have finally got your hands on one (saves me from getting mugged at Cosford ). Happy birthday.
Group build sounds good to me. I think Nige (Lampie) is thinking about getting one.
Now that you have one, get you make me a set of masks please for pick up at the Cosford show.

Hi Andy,
Yes it came as a very nice surprise, Sam was having a clearout and gave me first refusal on her Typhoon. She didn't know but it was my birthday the day she PM'd me so it was fate and I had to say yes
Are you going to start building it straight away? I will of course do you some masks and I will be doing some for me, of course (and Rowan when he finds this, if he wants some )
I plan on doing the one with the blue and white checks on the rear fuselage (not sure of the Squadron, yet) do you have a particular aircraft in mind?
Sam can't make Cosford so I won't have mine until the next show that she and Allen can get to, but I'll start a group build thread in the campaign forum and we can take it from there. Even if I don't get mine for a couple of months I'll still finish it before Rowan I'm planning it as part of my Poles-Apart build, an Fw 190D-9 and Tiger, a P-47 and a Sherman, and now a Typhoon and a Churchill. All the aircraft to 1/32 and the armour to 1/35

Got a to finish a certain other MDC kit before I start it. Haven't a clue yet what markings I'm doing. I shall let you know at Cosford.

Good idea, it might even motivate Rowan

Well I always planned to retire when I reached 55, that was on Monday. Although I can't afford to give up work, yet, yes I consider myself retired However, because I haven't actually given up work and because of the masks I don't actually have any more time for modelling, less in fact. I think I am actually more motivated. That is down to, in no small part, what you guys have been getting up to. Nige you with your presentation P-47, your Spotted Cow and you P-47 sig and Andy your speed builds. Then of course there's everyone else in the club from whome I draw inspiration from so jobs a good un
To be honest I think that I will struggle to get all 3 Poles apart completed, but I'm aiming for 2, the 190, which should be finished in a couple of weeks, then I'll carry on with the P-47, then I'll tackle the Tiger and Sherman (got to get one yet). The Typhoon will be built for the Group Build so I hope to have that completed for Telford but it's the Churchill (or other British tank) that I will struggle to complete. Bearing in mind that I have started a Do 217E-5 for the Twin Spinners campaign and I have a 109 and 190 in process for advertising Luftwaffe Masks and a Hurricane started for the article I am writing for the Mag. Mmmm maybe I ought to retire properly
I think that I might need to ask a question in the staff forum before starting the Group Build, but I'll link here when I do.

Happy birthday Mal,
I don't have the MDC Typhoon but I do have the old Revell offering in the the stash and was planning on using the MDC cockpit and details parts, (not sure if this would count for the group build though).
I'm sure you'll get it all done for Telford you just have top knuckle down and try to keep up with us insiring youngsters

Hi Mal
A belated Happy Birthday! Obviously, great minds think alike, because I bought this self-same kit for my own birthday a couple of weeks ago!
I'm afraid I almost certainly won't join in on any Group Build, because because I just don't get enough quality modelling time these days to stand any chance of keeping up with everyone. But, all being well, I will have my Review of the kit ready to post this weekend.
All the best
Rowan

Hi Rowan, well thinking about it if Andy starts his straight after his 234 hell finish it before I even get hold of mine So maybe we should just have our own build logs, designed as features? However it goes mine will jump straight to the front of my build pile as soon as I get hold of it
