As the topic title suggest, i am finding 1/72 WWII US Navy pilot figures, especially those sitting in the cockpit itself.
I am aware of the figures from hasegawa and CMK but apparently these figures dispicts the figures outside the aircraft.

Any help is appreciated

Check this link to PJ Productions, they do very nice resin figures and they have at least one set of US Pilots from WW2.
