Hello everyone. It's been at least 3 years since I've last logged into Armorama. Frankly, I'm surprised my login still worked. I guess ole Jim was kind of nice to leave my account intact.

Where have I been? Everywhere! It's a long, long, long story. Did I mention it was long? I haven't picked up a model in at least 3 years.

I briefly looked through the forums and see a few names I remember-CRS, Chuck Shanley, and Holdfast.

For those of you who don't know me I was on staff here at Armorama way, way back when Armorama was just starting out. I mainly did aircraft news but did do the occasional review and build article.

It looks like the site is still popular.

I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Bryan - Soooo good to hear from you, hope all is well, keep in touch. Rowan (Merlin) and I have thought of you often.

Things have changes a little but we are still basically the same bunch.

Welcome back Bryan,
We all understand that sometimes life gets in the way of the hobby.
Looking forward to seeing you doing a little building and posting.

I remember you, from my time as a mere lurker.

Bryan, your callsign seems familiar although we don't know each other personally. I've recently returned after a long absence myself, but not nearly as long as yours.
At any rate, glad you're back, hopfully modeling again, and see you around.

Yeah, life got in the way big time. I won't bore you guys with the details.

Dave, good to hear from you too. I've been away for so long I'm going to have to do some re-learning. When I moved from Virginia Beach to here in Jacksonville, FL I actually had a few unbuilt models that I brought with me. I'm just not sure I'm ready to break'em out yet. We'll see.

Greg, nice to meet you. I was looking through the member list and saw another member named Tin Can so there's a chance it could be them as well. Either way, it's good to be back.

I just checked my private messages. I had an unread message in there from Jan 7, 2005! LOL! So, it has been over 3 years since I've been one.

Wowza! This is a surprise. I thought your ship had fallen off the edge of the world or something.

I hope you had a great time traveling the globe. You were still missed all this time. For the benefit of everyone else, Bryan was volunteer staff member #1. He definitely put us on the path to where the site is today in terms of an active staff of users. Thank goodness too as I would have expired long ago if I had tried to do it all myself. hehe

I resurrected your banner (links to the gallery have changed since then). But you should probably put up a new one as that email is no longer good.

So are you going to start building again??? huh? huh? Don't ask me if I ever started up again. Doh...

Good to see you back.

Cheers,
Jim

Hi Bryan!

It's wonderful to see you back and posting again! I hope life's treating you well and that you'll be back to spend more time with us - I've really missed having you at the helm! Further to what Jim has said for the benefit of newcomers, there really would be no Aeroscale without the fantastic aircraft community that you built while we were still a part of Armorama. Hopefully, I've managing to stray true to the spirit of what you started.

All the best as ever

Jim, it was really good hearing from you. My ship didn't fall off the globe but we came close a few times. From 2005-2006 I spent all my time in a new job in the Navy. This job took all my time-and then some. I'd hate to guess how many miles I sailed on that thing. I spent a lot of time in 2006 off the coast of Lebanon escorting ships/ferries/evacuees in/out of Beirut. Not fun. I left the Navy at the end of 2006 and moved to Jacksonville, Florida where I live now. We really like it down here.

I noticed the banner working again. That's cool. I had forgotten what it looked like. Man it brings back memories. I'll look at making a new one.

Will I build again? I want to. We have a nice big garage now and I plan on putting a proper modeling bench in but I've got to get it cleaned out first. I'm probably a ways from starting to a build but the passion never left me.

I checked in on Armorama every once in a while but just wasn't ever in a position to re-introduce myself due to work.

I just saw last night that the IPMS nationals are back in Virginia Beach. Too bad I still don't live ten miles from the place they do it. Remember that year you and I went? When was that? 2004? 2003?

Rowan, it is nice to be back. Life is treating me well. How about you? I think you and Jim are making too much of what I did when I was on staff. I just followed Jim's directions and tried to make something useful. 95% of what I did was made possible by great build submissions by you and the others. As far as I can tell Aeroscale has really developed since I've been gone. It looks fantastic.

New policy in place "Credit given where credit is due". Bryan, YOU DA MAN

Rowan has done an outstanding job, since stepping forward, but you broke the ice for the aircraft group.

Ditto Bryan!

And in answer to your question, I'm doing fine - it's the same old story as when you were last here i.e. I'm buying and reviewing kits at about 20x the rate I can ever hope to build them! But hope springs eternal - I still keep joining Campaigns and then finding I've no time to build anything!

All the best

Yeah I know... I wish it was just 4-5 hours away like last time. Which was 2002 btw. Yes time really does fly.

Florida eh? I use to live a little to the east of you in Tally. For the better part of 1983 to 1989.

Don't be a stranger.

Jim

Hi Bryan
I'm still at it but due to moving house, job and country its been a while since I posted any new profiles. But as I've taken the plunge and bought my own Mac, a new set is well under way and it can't be long before they are ready for Merlin's feature publishing magic.

Cheers
Peter
