Hello!

I remember reading about a Belgian flying with the RAF. From what I remember, the Gestapo killed his father when they found that his son was flying for the Brits. In retaliation, the pilot left his squadron after a mission, flew to his hometown and shot up the police station/Gestapo HQ with his spitfire from roof-top level, killing the commander who ordered his dads' execution.

Can anyone help me with a name, or fill in any gaps? I could not find anything about this since the website "may1940.org" went down.

Thanks!

does this name ring a bell:
Jean de Selys-Longchamp
http://users.telenet.be/kurt.weygantt/worldwariiaces.index.html_jeandeselyslongchamps.htm

it says nothing about his father, and he was in a typhoon at the time, but sounds correct otherwise.
