One more photo has been added, as well as a side view drawing from ARCO book "Modern Fighting Aircraft, A-10, volume 6". The photo shows the N/AW bird being prepped for a night mission, and the WX-50 does show a tan front end (I knew I had seen it somewhere!). The side view drawing, if you look carefully, shows that the WX-50's body was tubular and then conical, not a teardrop shape (at least in that illustrator's view). Perhaps the dimensions can be scaled off using the vertical fin as a reference point?

I'm starting to seriously scope out the 1/72 Hobby Boss kit I have in hand and figuring out which other kit to use for kitbashing to correct it's shortcomings. I'll be using some old Eduard stuff to flesh out the cockpit detail even though the canopy will be closed. Many years ago I built the Hasegawa kit and it was a good one. How's the Italieri kit?
