Does anyone have any refrences for external flare/chaff pods that might have been carried by US aircraft, particularly the A-10, in the late 1970's and early 1980's? One reference specifies the ALE-37 pod. The A-10 was modified late in it's production run to add ALE-40 dispensers in the wing tips and landing gear pods, but I'm looking for what the operational load out would have been before that conversion (not sure whether it would have been a field conversion or not).
Lastly, does anyone know of a 1/48 and/or 1/72 kit (of any US aircraft) that includes that external pod?

I loaded weapons on the A-10 starting in 1977. they had only been in service one year at that time I NEVER loaded a ALE-37 on the A-10. Not to say the aircraft couldn't carry this system . Just that i never saw one -ever. I loaded these aircraft for eleven years
