With hobby lobby having a 40%off coupon this week I'll be tryin my hand one of these, and need to know if any of these are worth getting or should i just skip it.

1/48 Tamiya Korean War Mustang
1/48 Tamiya Focke Wulf FW109a8/a8R2
1/48 Tamiya A10 THunderbolt II
1/48 Revell B-29 Superfortress
1/48 Revell B-17G Flying Fortress
1/48 Revell B-25J Mitchell

Any and all feedback on these is greatly appreciated. This will be built OOB but I want my first plane to at least look decent to the unknowing eye

Hi there. Thought I'd give you my opinion. First off, don't limit yourself to 1/48 scale, I build 1/72 and really like it. You can often build two 1/72 scale kits in the time it take you to build one 1/48th. Although if you want 1/48 there is not a thing wrong with that scale either.

Are you going to be airbrushing, canning it, or brush painting is the next question. I think that is important to know.

will be airbrushing. I'll probably switch to 1/72 after this one, but I wanted something big for me to try as my first. I do notice alot more in the smaller scale though

Why not try the Focke-Wulf 190. You can play with different colors and you can freehand the camoflauge, just turn your pressure down to around five to eight psi when airbrushing the wings the second color, as an example. Russell

P.S. The FW190 is a beautiful bird to start with.

Also, I can't recommend acrylic paints more. They are easy to use, easy to clean up in your airbrush, just use water, and safer for your body. Russell
