News of up and coming releases and re-releases from MPM.
They are also offering to mould a new run of the Arado AR95-A and Arado 95-B kits if there is sufficient interest.

Do we need more Spitfires and P-40s? What happened to the new 1/48 Special Hobby Mi-1 "Hare" that was supposed to be released this year?

I don't know about P-40s, but as to the Spitfire, the most famous fighter of all time, the answer can only be yes.

There is still no accurate (or inaccurate) model of the Vc version of this bird, and you had to buy expensive (c$40) conversions just to get close, which is ridiculous given that quite a few Vc's were produced, and that they were flown in key theatres by very famous pilots, so thank you MPM.

Kind regards,

Nick

Hi Nick

well, AFAIK the Airfix Spit Vc is considered the most accurate Spit out there (shape wise) ... of course it has a mix of raised and engraved panel lines and I sure do appreciate the MPM release .. but I had to comment on this

(another kit to strike from the Gavia "to do" list (click we prepare) )

cheers

Do we need P-40's? P-40's in general, probably not. But the Merlin Engined P-40F is not a common kit subject. In 1/72 i can't say i'm very interested anyway. Hopefully they scale it up to 1/48 as the AM-Tech kits are not easy to find these days.

The real gem of the MPM/CMK/Special Hobby crowd forthcoming releases is tucked away right at the end of the latest CMK newsletterr. No date given, but Planet Models (their resin kit label) has a Vought X5FU-1 "Flying Flapjack" in the works in 1/48th scale. Sure, it won't be cheap, but given recent Planet Models quality, it'll be worth it. I'll forgive quite a few Spitfires and P-40s if they make stuff like this possible
