I have tried novus and bare metal foil polishing compound and tooth past but my canopies still look a bit cloudy and not shiney. I use a cloth dipped in the different solutions and even used a cloth polisher with the dremal at low speed still nothing. What might I be doing wrong?

Have you tried soaking them in Future ? I very seldom find it necessary to polish canopies, but when I do I always finish with a good soak in Future. Can you show us a photo of what you are starting with, sounds like you've got some bad canopy problems if you find it is a normal operation to have to polish them.

have you tried tamiya polishing compound?

I used it to remove seams and hard scratches from canopies and it works.

otherwise, normally a good layer of future is sufficient if you can find that stuff.

about the toothpaste:

some work and some seem to make things worse. The trick that works for me all the time is to use the finest wet sandpaper there is and finally use the Tamiya polishing compound. It made all my canopies look like new after I had sanded off a injecton molding line.

When sanding/polishing make sure you use circular or figure-8 movements.

there is a method- did you use all the polishers i the same direction , if so - then you will still have the cloudy/scratchy look.

Each successive grade at 90 deg to the last then, go to the pharmacy/ nail bar and a super fine nail polisher will sufice

when that's stisfactory, dip- not soak in future- slowly withdrawing from the dip to eliminate runs- onto kitchen paper and cover for 24 hrs= BINGO!
