I read in a thread somewhere that Academy would be coming out with a 1/48 F-22, but it has been awhile, and I haven't seen or heard anything else. I know that sometimes manufacturers will announce something, but never follow through on it for a variety of reasons. Has anyone else heard this or have any information on it?

I would not expect the model too soon. There was just a wood mockup at the booth in Nuremberg:



IMO it will take at least until late this year or early next year until we see the model. IIRC there is a a Hobby Show in the 4th quarter in SEA (not Tokyo, another one) .. guess we know more then (do not know if Academy is at Tokyo Hobby Show)

I hope they do a good job on it as the other kit on the market is pretty bad. It could be tough for them to get too much detail though, since I think the plane still has some secret elements and functions.

I m looking forward for this kit too. At least i ve seen the packaging here, compared to the ever elusive Kinetic Viper kits

Sounds like a great kit, but I will wait until it hits the shelves in the EU. Then there will probably also be a couple of reviews to reveal if it is worth the money.
