Here are some thoughts
Can you heat the part in HOT water and reshape it?
You may try a hair dryer too if its available.
You might be able to fill any gaps with putty and sand it down.
Are pictures possible?? It would help with the fixing process suggestions.

Molding a new piece is fairly invovled - mold material, resin, etc Not sure if you want to go that far.

You may try and ask if anyone has the part for sale or trade. You'll need to post kit name, manufacturer, part #.

Maybe the kit was bent because of the improper shipping of the kit. Always remember when buying a kit:

-Find the box that is new
-Check the box for holes and tears
-Check the sprues inside for any missing and/or destroyed/bent parts.

To fix that kit, dip it in warm water so the plastic will soften then put it to the position you desire. Go with slodder's idea. Show us the pic so we could help

You may want to consider taking the kit back where you bought it. I have done that a couple of times and they always told me just to go get another one off of the shelf once I showed them the problem. Just a thought...
