Royal Class Bf 110C, D & EPosted: Saturday, July 19, 2008 - 04:30 AM UTC
Here's a First Look at Eduard's most ambitious Royal Class kit yet - the 1/48 scale Bf 110, plus a 1/4 scale (yes, that''s right - 1/4 scale!) instrument panel.

I just recently finished the 1/4 scale control panel, I could post some pics if you like. If Eduard makes another royal class kit, I hope they add another control panel to that kit. This was an absolute joy to build.

Hi R.J.
I'd love to see how the panel turned out. Did you shoot any in-progress pics? - it would make a very interesting Feature-article.
All the best

Unfortunately I did not shoot very many in progress pics but here is what I have.
Here's the panel after painting and with the instrument faces applied.
And here are a couple pics of the finished panel.
I have a small repair that I have to do to the small clear rectangular part above the dial (speedometer I think) to the right of the blue instrument but other than that I hope you like the pics.

Nice job R.J.!
I can't wait to have a crack at the panel myself, but I'm trying not to let myself get distracted - I must finish Eduard's Fokker Triplane first.

That looks absolutely excellent. Although I am more of an aircraft modeller than an instrument panel modeller

Thanks guys. I was the middle of building Academy’s M10 Duckbill when I got this kit but when I was looking through the instructions for that panel and I ended up breaking and curiosity got the best of me.

Very nice review, Rowan. I could not resist despite my ever growing stash. I have ordered this kit and I am looking forward to see the instrument panel, although I seriously doubt I will build it. Somehow it is just not attractive to me, sounds like I am the only one.
The set was 30% discounted in Germany, so I bought the German edition. I guess I have to live without the medal and the swastikas. I did not want to pay another 35 euros for medal and swastikas - especially not when I got resin exhausts and MG ammo instead.
Anybody want to sweap the instrument panel for swastikas and medal?

Great hint Jesper!!! .. just ordered one too
Two kits for the price of two, plus resin stuff and the instrument panel. Just could not pass that despite my melting budget.
cheers

Yes, it is impossible to resist. BTW the FW Royal Class set is on sale as well - both in Germany and in GB. Bought one each place
