Hi guys,
I was thinking about converting Airfix's dreaded 1:72 Short Stirling Mk.I-III into a Mk.IV which were used as glider tugs during the D-Day and Market Garden operations. The notable difference with the Mk.IV seems to be the removal of the nose and dorsal turrets, and the addition of the glider mount on the rear wheel.
Has anybody seen any after-market sets for the Mk.IV conversion? My scratch-building skills are not all that good, and besides, I wouldn't really know how or where to start remolding the clear perspex. With Airfix's re-release Horsa glider, this would make a fantastic diorama.
Cheers,
Aaron
