Hi all -
IJust out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone knows if P-40's were ever used with natural metal finishes? In one of my reference boks I have a picture of a YP-40 in NMF but I don't remember seeing one in service that way. It seems they were all OD.

I have a profile of a NMF P-40N, serial # 323194, white tail, yellow rudder tip with blue stripe, yellow spinner with blue stripe, 34 on cowl under exhaust stacks. I got it off the web (sorry I don't remember where...) see profile in members photos

Hi,
132 Squadron RCAF British columbia '44 - '45 flew a P40n in NMF serial number under tailplane of 867 and PN on either side on main cowling below the exhaust.
The anti glare panel is Olive Drab from the windscreen forward.
This is from the Eduard Profi Pak of their P 40n kit
Hope this helps.

Rob, Matthew - thanks. Matthew, your picture triggered the darkest recess somewhere in my memory (a very strange and mysterious place) and I think I've seen an NMF P-40 with Air National Guard markings - somewhere. They are apparently very rare beasts.

I remember seeing a profile of one, many, many years ago.It might be one of the ones mentioned above. But I think it might have been RAAF or RNZAF. But dont quote me.
