I want to mount a 1/48 P51 to a grassy field done on a wooden base. How do I mount it? Suggestions that have worked for you. I am just starting the plane so I can drill the tires if needed.

I've used two methods, depending on how finicky I wanted to be:
1 - a dab of thick CA to the bottom of the wheels, and set down on base.
It works, but I don't use it if the base is going to be handled a lot.
2 - drill a hole in bottom of each wheel, insert a small length of wire. When ready,
dab a little black paint on end of wire, place model down on base. Lift. Now drill holes
into the base where the black dots are. Add glue to wire, set into holes, and let dry.
I hope that helps.
Cheers,
Mike
