Hello guys, I just have finished the Hasegawa Wurger

- canopy used from Dragon/Trimaster kit (due to a better shape)
- smooth tires replaced by treaded ones from Hasegawa A3/4 kit
- all camo sprayed freehand using Gunze C/H paints except the yellow places and the stylized wings behind the engine cowl

Any comments/critics are welocme......

Great job on the butcher bird Ludek. The mottling and top camo fades beautifully into the other colours.

Wish I could get mine to do that!

Dear Ludek

Very nice model. I like the subtle panel line shading. The fine exhaust stains are also very good.

Why did you change the canopy? It is my believing that the Hasegawa kit is base on the same data as the Trimaster/DML. at least it is very similar.

Did you have a photographic reference for the lightened fuel tank mount on his Fw 190 A-5. I thought this was specific for the late war Fw 190 As ..

cheers

Hi Steffen,

thank you (as well as the others) for kind words. Hasegawa kit has nothing to do with the old Trimaster/Dragon kit (there isn't common any single part). I don't know why this mistake is still repeated in modellers community. It isn't even based on the Hasegawa A-3/4 kit from 2005, but completely new-tool (it goes together like a dream). The shape of the canopy is better in Dragon kit in my eyes, compare the photos below, Hasegawa's one is somewhat too bulbous at the top. Regarding ERLA lightened tank mount, it is clearly visible on a flight photo of this machine (e.g Rodeike book, page 159), it is also a bit visible on the most widely known photo, which I'm attaching here. I believe that every Priller's aircraft equipped by a tank mount was just that with ERLA system.....

Hi Ludek!

This is a fantastic model, congratulations!

Did you also built the BMW car? Anyway, I hope to see more of your work on Aeroscale soon. And don't forget you can enter your Fw190 into the Model of the Month contest...

Hello again Ludek

many thanks for the clarification.

IMO the early Fw 190 A are definitely based on DML data! there was a Dragon A-4 which definitely had Hasegawa parts in it ... which are also in the new boxings (though some parts were newly designed). Thats why it is very likely IMHO that Hasegawa also got or bought the full data (I am not talking of parts being the same but only the design data which was surely reworked in places). The shapes are very similar.

I see what you mean with the canopy .. still I find the Hasegawa o.k. as i believe it is also a matter of perspective. Most original shot were taken from below.

On the pic in Rodeike you can see nothing clear (too small) but I think it is very very likely that you are right!

Again, very nice build!!!

best wishes

Steffen

I too have the impression that some of the earlier Hasegawa Focke-Wulfs are either reboxings or re-worked from Dragon / Trimaster kits.
I remember this A5 always marketed as a new tooling.

But back on the subject, looks fantastic!
Very nice work all around, I especially like the mottling.

Ludek, I think your build came out great. Fantastic paint job, good attention to detail, and that extra loving touch. I certainly hope to see more of your work here in the future. If you can get Steffan's approval on a 190, you know it has to be good.

Don't forget there is a 190 Campaign coming up soon. Hope to see you there.
