Hi all

Intrinsically this belongs to the Modelgeek Events forum, but as I was recently advised, that anyone can post where he/she is most comfortable I post it here .. first.

Last weekend IPMS Germany held a show at the Luftwaffenmuseum in Berlin Gatow. Many scale models were shown. Those of you who did not already ban me from their view may have a look here:

Model Show 6th/ 7th September 2008 in Berlin Gatow

I have some more photos in the pipe especially some from the restauration hangar that is normally closed to public and holds a pretty advanced Fw 190 A among other stuff (Fw 190 D .. no really ) They had a RR technician demonstrate an Oberursel Umlaufmotor .. I hope someone of my clubmates has a video as I would like to see and hear that ... these pix will follow later tonight or tomorrow.

cheers

Steffen

Hi Steffen!

Very nice pictures, thanks a lot for sharing!

A similar meeting took place in Bruxelles this week-end...

It must be very nice to see models in such incredible places. More pictures of the Bruxelles meeting can be seen here.

That brings back some memories - I was at the Berlin-Gatow model show in 2004 (was living in Berlin-Schoenenberg at the time).

thanks for the pics Steffen.

Thanks for the pics from both Berlin and the Bruxelles events. That museum in Bruxelles brings back memories as i've been there a few times for a look during past European visits.

And since i'm currently on the loose in Germany again, i may have to make it to Berlin-Gatow for a look as well.

Hi Andrew

If you are in Berlin: the Deutsche Technikmuseum Berlin also has a nice collection .. all a bit cramped in the building but still nice. (e.g. Bf 110)

Brilliant.
Love the models against the backdrop of real aircraft.
Stunning.

Thank you very much Steffen.

Looks great, Steffen. Really cool pictures.

Great tip on the Luftwaffe museum. I was looking for cool museums in Berlin the other day. I am going with the girlfriend to the Christmas market in Berlin for 3-4 days. I could not find any cool museums in Berlin and was perplexed how this could be. How I missed the luftwaffe museum is a mystery to me. Maybe because I was looking for tank/military museums. The luftwaffe museum is a must see and top of my list now!

many thanks Peter!

Hi Jesper

Hmm, Gatow in Winter might not be the brightest move .. it is pretty much outside of Berlin and you'll have to take quite a walk .. remember this was an airfield .. so I am not sure your girl will be happy about that. ...OTOH the Technikmuseum is in town .. see link above.

I do not want to dissuade you from visiting the Luftwaffenmusem .. it is nice. but maybe try to visit our exhibition next year .. we mostly have good weather .. well, at least when I was there. Also check the opening hours of the LW museum .. they may change in winter. ( http://www.luftwaffenmuseum.de/ )

cheers

Steffen
