Hi Guys,
I'm after some advice.
I'm in the process of building a Hasegawa 1/48th Me 109.
I'm wanting to add a few extra details,I've added wire to represent the brake lines but had the devils own job of gluing it in place.
I'm using fuse wire and super glue,it took many goes to get them to stick,I think that the glue wasn't drying fast enough,so may need to look to a quick setting brand.
But any advice gratefully accepted.

Hi Chris . I use two different types of super glue . H and D's own glues , maxi-cure extra thick sets in 10-25 sec , Insta-cure super thin sets in 1-3 sec .
I use the thick for where holes have been drilled and the thin for flat parts . Also make sure all parts are free of dirt and finger prints . The oil from your fingers doesn't react to glue very well on some brands . Have a look at your hobby shop on what brands they carry . You can even find them at the dollar store if it's a good one .

It helps to drill holes where lines or wires have to go to help anchor it better giving it a stronger bond .

I agree with Terri, drilling holes and inserting a wire end will help a lot. I use a product called Loctite Super Glue Gel. It can be found in hardware stores, home improvement stores, etc. It is very thick, and quick setting. I dip the end of the wire into a bit of it, set it into the drilled hole, and voila!, done. It sets up in seconds. Hope this helps.

The only thing I would add to the great advice so far, maybe try a super glue accelerator to get a nearly instant bond.

Time I got some new Superglue. The stuff I use takes forever to set.

Here's a tip , no accelerator , baking soda and water work just as well and is cheaper !

What does one do with it? Pray tell?

one cup of water to every teaspoon of baking soda , can use any type of small spray bottle or brush .
