Hi all,
it's been ages my last post here in Aeroscale and been a while for me to build a modern aircraft..
Anyway i just thought to build something OOB and simple and easy...
so i choose this kit .. Hasegawa Superhornet

Overall, I was so impressed with the quality of this kit. I like the sturdy plastic compare to the other hasegawa kit that currently in the workbench. This is really a new molding as mentioned in the review in the internet.

Enough talk, some photos of the progress so far.......

painted the anti-glare panel

some sink holes in the intake... filled and filed

afterburner nozzle

the cockpit... in 1/72 decals seem forgiving to detail the panels...

the front fuselage consist of 4 parts ... this is the first 3 parts and the fitting is really superb....

test fitting on other parts showed the kit really has excellent fitting! so i plan to finished this fast...

I decided to close the intake since the interior does not look 'good'
So i used masking tape and cover the intake

quick application of Mr White Surfacer 1000

Painted with mr Color red

The fuselage parts were assembled and fitting was excellent with minimal filler used and soem sanding to please me...

Comments are welcome.... thanks

That is a very cool way to make up some intake covers. Thanks for sharing it.

Nice work! One question though... Wouldn't it be kinda hard for you to paint the cockpit now that you've sticked the decals?

Cheers!

Mr Russel,
the cockpit had been painted prior to decalling... I used Mr Color 334 which is light gray and not very much different from the plastic color.... and is not very visible in the photo...

and thanks guys..

Really beautiful job Silantra!
It always amazes me how some of you guys do such awsome work in 1/72 scale.
Everything looks great and those decals turned out very nice. Really great markings on this aircraft as well.

Thats a great looking model. I have the 1/48 version that i got recently. havent started it yet. If it looks half as good i will be happy. have tried 1/72 scale but its just to small for my fingers to work with.
