great book though more of an academic nature .. i.e. it is no book you can read cover2cover

If you have a photo with a unit designator you can find the unit in the book ... vice versa too .. if you want to build an aircraft of a special unit you can find the unit codes and what aircraft wore that codes. Many photos too.
