Here's my Tamiya 1/32 Zero, first time building this scale. I can't say enough for the detail in this kit, and it's built straight out of the box.
Paint is all Tamiya acrylics, and finished off with Polly Scale flat. I wanted the paintwork to look really busy, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out - although the shading on the insignia is a tad heavier than I intended.
I tried to keep chipping to a minimum as far as Zero's go, and it was done with a colored pencil.
Anyway, on to the pics!
I should note that the fit is so good that none of the following parts are even glued in place: upper/lower cowl, horizontal stabs, vertical stabs, sliding canopy, rear canopy, pitot tube, wing guns, and antenna mast. Also, the control surfaces are not positioned for historical accuracy, but merely to show that they all work and move as they should haha.

Jason that is absolutely awsome. How did you do the panel shading? Airbrush or powders?

Hi Jason!
I would like to know that as well. Your model looks amazing!
Could you send us some more pictures for a feature on Aeroscale?

Thanks guys!
The panels were done with several layers of pre-shading and post-fading, all airbrushed.
Jean-Luc, I would be more than happy to do a feature on Aeroscale. I've got pictures documenting the whole build from start to finish

Beautiful Zero. The pictures look great. You have build and photo skill in one package.

Holy Green metal ! Thats one super looking Zero you have The model looks top nothc, and so does the photography.. It actuallys remindes me of some of Tamiyas kits with the actual model on the box top. But better! That paint job looks great.. and the cockpit looks as if I can slide in and start it up. currently only us two in the DMoM right now.. and I can see who would win so far.

It looks like one of those rare models where people can definitely say: "Looks like you did everything right!"
You sure did! I love the colors and the shading. I can only imagine the amount of work you put into the model and you can be mighty proud of the result!
I'd love to see a feature on this one! Cheers.

Excellent! Is this a Zero that can be used for the Pearl Harbor attacks or is it a later aircraft model?
Oops, I did some research and this pricey baby is the right one for Tora, Tora, Tora.
