Hi everyone
Right, missed out on the Revell Puma but managed to win myself a Matchbox Puma on ebay. It hasn't arrived yet but I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how it can be improved (if it needs it). Also, does it have an interior for the rear compartment or only for the cockpit? Thanks, Nick

Aahh... I remember this from years ago, I thought it was the best kit in the world, my biggest then to date...
It has probably tons to improve, but I remember it had a lot of detail already, including the rear compartment (seats, flooring, textured wall etc).
I took mine to be displayed at my air cadets and within minutes of its arrival an instructor had knocked it onto the floor...
Don't think I ever managed to repair it...

Good luck and keep us up to date with the build!

As DogEgg says. It is a great kit. Very detailed inside and out. I built one many moons ago that is long gone as well. If I remember right, the instrument panels were decals. Might want to look for replacement panels or make your own. Other than that, its really nice.

We don't have permission to see them unless we are logged in to kitmaker. Maybe there is a private only setting on the images

I don't think there is a private setting on them afaik! Why not just log into kitmaker, it is just the same username and password that you use to log onto aeroscale. HTH, Nick

Yeah me too! I saved paper round money for months to buy that kit. Made it in about 10 days...
Keep us posted on the build. Once you've done the Nimrod, obviously...

Interesting kit. Those pictures are a trip down memory lane.

Please share this build with us when you get started. It could be interesting to see one of these old kits compared to todays standards.

Hi guys
I will definetly be posting my build on here for you guys. However I think it will be a while before I start it as I still have my nimrod to finish and then I'll be away for a while but rest assured once it's started it'll be on here!! Watch this space! Nick

Hi guys
I've actually decided to put the Nimrod on the back burner for a bit now and decided to start the puma. Not done much yet though, i'll try and get some photos when I've done a bit more!
In the mean time, I was wondering, is the Puma currently in service with the RAF the new Super Puma, if so, when was this introduced and how much different is it to the the original SA330 Puma? I'd quite like to make a Puma like the ones in Afgan but it depends on how much scratching needs to be done as I'm not really the greatest scratch builder this world has ever seen!!!!!Thanks, Nick

Hi Nick,

I currently have one conversion of that kit on my bench

U can see it there https://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/forums/108962&page=1

I also dealt with an HC1 RAF Puma Tiger Meet in 1/32nd : http://fighters.forumactif.com/le-coin-des-helicos-f15/puma-tiger-meet-2005-1-32-t11362.htm

I think I know this kit and its tricks or shortcomings quite well now and if I can help... Feel free to ask

Cheers,

Richard
