A Bird of Prey with an East European pedigree. . .

License built fighter aircraft have always been a fascinating subject for modelers. Roden’s 1/32 scale Albatros D.III (OAW), kit #608 was a logical step for them to make. Even in early issues of the standard Albatros D.III kit # 606, we all knew Roden would offer this OAW variant sooner or later. Now we have it!

Thanks for the link , found it to very helpful with the pic's you added . I did order this kit at the LHS so hopeful it will be in soon .
I'm also planning on doing one in 48 scale , just love that candy stripe !

And you Local hobby shop is Jadar in Polen ,That´s my guess. Who can resist those stripes, mine is ordered too.

No Lars, have never done business with Jadar at all . One of those fancy cards things wouldn't do to well with me . Not only will I be buying kits and supplies left , right and center but the cloths and the shoessssssssss !!!!!

The one that I go to here in the city is the best one , they can get most items . Their supplier is Squadron , so if it's listed there I can get it . Just wish they would carry Fly kits , really want that M5 .

Just to give you something to chew on. The possibility exists that the aircraft was black and white. The argument for red and white has a tradition in the history of the red and white barber pole not the candy cane. During the middle ages barbers and dentists were the same profession. The bloody rags that these common doctors used were washed (usually in lye soap but not always) and to dry they were wrapped around a white staff outside the estabishment as a "sign" of the type of work you could get done inside its doors.

I always liked that version, I have an Eduard's Albatros D.III waiting ....

The kit is boxed up and going out to our CaptainA in the Monday mail. I expect he's cleared a place for it to land.

Right on Carl , It's a very nice kit . Just got my in the mail yesterday along with their other D.III . I must say . I'm very impressed with the quality of the moldings . No wonder you guys like these kit's so much !
Now if Roden would do the DH-2 and the S.S.W D.III in that scale ..........................
