Classified: Top Secret.
Don't you love it when you decide for the first time, that Kits just don't cut it and the only way you can fully exercise your (Percieved) creative proclivities is to pick up a knife and some evergreen strip and start cutting and glueing.
You get inspired by reading such tomes as John Alcorns "Master Scratch Builders" and "Scratch Built" and you see builds such as Ricardos Spad come from nothing but an idea to something beautiful... and you think, "I can do that".
You get out some plans that have been eating away at your imagination for years and tape them to your cutting board.
You riffle through the acumulated stocks of Evergreen strip and sheet that you have been collecting for just this day...
You close your mind to all else, make your self a cup of tea and start cutting.
You half finish the fuselage and then look at it and decide that there is a better way of doing this. So you put that to one side and start over...
You print more plans, because you have gotten so much glue on the original set that they are now unusable...
You get to the same point again... And decide that there is a better way of doing it...
Sigh... As one of my school teachers used to say... "All a great Learning Experience!"
Photos soon.
Cheers,
Hugh

The good fellow J.R.R. Tolkien started his manuscript several times. It was described like the waves of the tide marching up the beach a little further with each attempt. Roll tide roll! Just tell me its not a tank!

Tank! Eeeeeoooo!
Nup. You will love it! For a hint check out my contibution to your Autumn Leaves thread on the other forum.
Yes, My reading of said Manuscript was somewhat similar in nature to its writing.
Took me three attempts to get through it that first time...
It gets read every two years again as a matter of principle.
Cheers,
Hugh

The thoughts of a total scratchbuild pass through my tiny "brain-housing-group" for about 3 seconds.............then some sanity returns. I only use a #11 blade and a large ball peen hammer........
I am looking forward to photos........

This one has been waiting in the wings for about ten years now Steve. I've just been working up the courage to start! It might end up not half as good as it might, but it will be an invaluable and cost effective experience.
Imagine, Resin casting, Styrene fabrication, Wing building... What experience!
Cheers,
Hugh

Well, I know what you mean. I've come really close to one of the 1/16th Model Airways Jennys. Lotsa "learning" but lotsa "no-room" too. A labor of love is always the most satisfying....just keep us well informed Hugh.....

Oh Yeah! Once the F1 is put to bed, you will all be inundated with updates.
I am building currently, and am taking photos as I go... Once I have something worth showing you, you will see it.
Cheers,
Hugh
