Hi everybody -
I've just begun my latest victim - Acadamy's Seversky P-35A - and in looking through the plans I noticed that the length is given as 8.17 m and wingspan as 10.97 m. I can convert these to the Queen's dimensions.
The wingtip is obviously tip to tip, but exactly where is the length measured? Is it from the tip of the spinner ( the USAAC only has a hub - the Swedish version has a large spinner) to the farthest tip of the rudder? The two versions would have slightly different lengths.
Where is height measured and what attitude is the aiplane in? If it's sitting on the ground, tail down, it looks as though the max height would be from the ground to the top of the cockpit but the tip of a prop blade might be higher. In level flight, the highest point from the underside would be the top of the vertical tail.
Just curious.
Regards to all,
Steve

Hi Steve
1m = 3.28084 feet.
So 8.17 m = 26.8 feet and 10.97m = 35.99 feet.
As for the rest I'm as curious as you.
But I would think it would be from extreme tip of spinner or hub to extreme tip of tail.
So I the two should be slightly different.(?)
Cheers
Peter
