Dragons old V2, maybe not so old. Bought it as Revell edition.
Made a little dio for the moment. The camo wrap around was quite difficult to made. Many photos shows the V2 in a chess pattern, you know black and white. Were all the V2 rockets later painted in green, brown and dark yellow later or did they send chess pattern to London too? Just curious because to paint a whole rocket must have been time consuming.

Hi Jan.
IIRC (I'm at work at the moment) the black and white schemes where only used on the test articles fired mainly from Penamunde.
I believe the patterns where done so that any pitch and roll could be observed. This was also done on the Saturn V moon rockets.
Therefore you'd be fairly safe with a camoflague scheme for an operational rocket.

Regards
Chris
