Hello

In regards to applying decals.

I just read in the forum about applying a gloss coat on to the kit, followed by the decals with the help of some microsolmicroset, and then using a dull cote to seal the decals and negate the gloss and have a magically good looking kit with no silvering on the decals...

I in a moment of dithering stupidity accidently applied the dull cote on first... Should i not worry about it and follow the above steps, or should i just skip the gloss or is it a bit late to do anything now...

Just apply the gloss and go from there.

yup, as said above, no worries - you just have an extra layer of clear paint is all. do the gloss and go from there

Welcome to the kitmaker network for wayward children. You should find us to be a helpful and knowledgable group. Don't be afraid to ask questions or post pictures. The campaigns are also a great way to delve into diferent aspects of modeling. Be sure to check them out.

The gloss coat gives the decals a smoothe surface to lay on, The flat surface may cause the decals to silver. As long as you have a smooth surface, and the decals are good, youe should get good results.
