Guys, what do you think I could possibly do with this AC? I think I ruined it already. Please check the pics if it still look fine or do I need to do adjustments on it. I hate it so much that I could destroy it! Anyway, it is Tamiya's F/A-18E Super Hornet 1/72 scale. Please tell me what and will I continue this kit or revise it. I'm planning to customize it. Please check if it still look OK to you.

*Note: the kit is not yet complete and I don't know if I will complete it so I need your comments so badly that I can save my life

Thanks!

I got it! Because I put the code next to the image ( ruined1.jpg[url] ) which caused the lost of the pic. Sorry! The link is already fixed. Check out the image now

Try to post some pics so we can help you. If you can't post pics, can you describe what is wrong?

Really, nothing much is wrong. It's just that I'm not satisfied with my work. I spend ca$h on that thing and I hate to waste that ca$h on a ruined project. I just don't like the painting of it.

Shonen, the build up looks fine. If it's the paint that bothers you, just repaint it. It looks like it may have been brush painted, or at least the dark areas look brush painted. You might be better off masking it and spraying it instead of hand brushing.

Do you think so? I just airbrushed the body with few amounts of thinner, dark grey and white. It feels sticky even after 2 days. Have I done something wrong? It regulary feels smooth after some time but this one is still sticky.

Dude, we just got through 5 straight days of typhoon Chedeng(hurricane/cyclone to the others out there). It remains sticky because it hasn't dried properly. Leave it alone for a few more days. Enjoy your first days of school. Go chick-watching in pebble wash, or near C2 cafe. I'm sure that'd be worthwhile while waiting for your bug to dry

I agree with TwistedFate, it looks like it just needs a bit of touch up. Did you mask off the areas where you have the two colors? Make sure you get a real tight seal there - burnish down the tape, if that's what you're using. Are you using enamels or acrylics? Touching up the edges, a flat coat, and some panel line enhancement should bring it to life. I don't think it's a scrapper.

Oh, that's right. I keep my model in my room which is regulated at 16 deg C. Too cool here especially at night. Anyway, that's a good hint.

Anyway, where is the pebble wash? and the C2 cafe. I don't know the names of each cafeteria there. Chich-watching? A worthwhile thing to do. Anyways, every 10 min break yields a lot of chicks walking around :-) :-) :-)

I'm using enamels. I did mask but I am a "hot head" during those times. I tried to work on it to cool myself a little bit

You may want to also reconsider what type of washes you are doing. If they are still tacky, you should probably use something else as the thinner may be attacking the paint and/or the plastic. What did you paint with and what did you wash with?

Also, can you get an airbrush? This will help you more than any other modeling tool save Xacto knives and sandpaper.

I also agree with the other guys, leave it alone until it does dry all the way.

Best of luck,

Scott

Bingo! Enamels take forever to dry completely if there is a lot of moisture in the air, like after a typhoon. Here in Virginia the summers are very humid and sometimes I have to paint my car bodies and set them aside for up to 2-3 weeks for them to completely dry properly. In fact I'm scrambling now to get about 5-6 car bodies painted before it gets real humid so I have some buildable models this summer, my apartment looks like an auto paint shop right now. Just give it a couple more days, go meet a honey or two or build something else. Not only will it have time to dry, but the time away from it will magically make it not as bad as it seems right now

Thanks guys! I think I'll ruin my reputation as an AC modeler if I can't do this thing good. (++)
