hope i cant finished the bird it time...

here are some of the progress photos

there are some join/fit issue that can be remedied by putty. On top of that, the kit is ok with the standard.

Day 6:

There are not so many build with regards to the percentage of completeness coz the time was spend mainly on putty, filling and sanding...There are 3 noticeable gaps between the fuselage half and the MG access panel gaps...and the tail section is not level... have to Mr Surfacered it and sand

anyway, here's some of the photos that i can shoot...

The gap between MG access panel

Fill and sand - will prime it tonight to see if this is OK!

The join between the fuselage :

Fill and sand it a few times...still not sure it's ok... tonight will prime it

The tail join.... .. the panel lines must be restored tonight..

Favourite ordnance config...
What's not in the photo are 2 drop tank which suffered bad fitting...it's in the putty shop...

The overall view with the missile launcher ..

Wings?? I plan to do a full sweep and flap and slat down..
The slat leading edge were painted Silver and Red on the inside..
The flap were painted red also on the join.. cant be seen here due to the masking tape.
All leading edge surface on the wings were painted red also..

The ejection seat is at it's 80%.

Finally, the canopy and windscreen after sanded, polished and FUTURE-d. The blue tint was painted on the inside of the windscreen with parafilm as the masking media..

Comments are welcome..

Cheers,
Zaidi

as usual, comments please.....

The cat are painted now.... the only things is left now is the gear doors, well and the ordnance.

Some photos to share:
These one just fresh from the paint job....
I test fit the wing and rudder.

The wing parts.

The canopy and windscreen.

Pitot tubes - first time i paint with Mr Super Stainless Steel... it turn out very good and in reality it really looks like metal.

Just a few minutes before i send the cat to the show.

This is fast but the quality is far beyond what i expected. Since it's just a show, i will fly this cat just to support the event.
I can say it's 98% completed and ready to fly this afternoon...
During the rush, i screwed up with the decal. There is a major wrinkle on the tip of the port side rudder...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... i wish i had the time to repair but i dont. And since I was in extreme fun building, i skip the not so fun part and continue..
All the missile are not able to make it. Some silvering is observed on the decals.
The canopy PE also didn't make it.

some of the sneak preview pics...

I knew the grab handle should be yellow/black stripe but i used red instead. Too lazy....

Can see the screwed-up done by me???

No missile...only 2 tanks for long distance mission...

After the show i will equip the missile and touch ups...
Comments are welcome.

Beautiful bird Zaidi!
My favorite F-14 markings of all time and you've done a superb job. It still blows my mind how you guys do such great work in 1/72 scale.

Nice work,

after taking a few days break, i continued with the wip.
Now is time for the missile to get painted and decalled.
Just 2 more Phoenix to finish. Sparrow and Sidewinder are almost complete before giving all of them a flat coat bath

the PE on the canopy were installed in place...

after this, a flat coat throughout the cat and maybe some gap filling ...

will be back for more

Thanks mate..
For the radar screen, first i paint it black.
Then i lay some white over the black...it's just a small stroke onto small area on the black.
After it's done and dried, i paint the entire radar screen with clear green....and a gloss coat afterthat...

hope this help

Maybe your right. Maybe they are supposed to be there. I can't get on ARC tonight as it must be down. I'll have to post it up there later.

I have that same kit Erizemen. I'm thinking about doing it for the carrier campaign.
You did a great job on this F-14 Zaidi. I like the decals especially. The whole jet turned out great.
