Stupid question of the week:

I am working on my first WWI A/C. It's an Eduard Albatros D.V and the instruction call out for Grey-green in Tamiya colors is XF-26. To me that color looks entirely too dark. The Grey green that I see in most of the work around here is more of a RAF Sky shade. Is there an accurate WWI German Grey-green straight from a jar? Acrylics preferred. Thanks in advance for the help.

PS, I'll get pictures of my Albatros up ASAP

I use German Field Gray or German Uniform Gray Green. I think they are close. I also seem to remember somebody doing that same kit using RLM 02.

I use RLM 02 for my German inter , you can add more green or grey to get the colour you need . but this varied . Carl ( Captain A ) field grey would be a closer match maybe lighten it a little .

Thanks for the help folks. There seems to be no real hard and fast rule as to what shade this color was. However, I guess it stands to reason that the early RLM colors were decendants of the WWi aircraft paints. I think I'll lean toward an RLM 02 with a touch of green added if, for nothing else, to sooth my tastes.
