Thanks for the comment, Automaton.
I am also a little concerned about how the seem line will show up. It is worst in front of the cockpit and this area will be covered by a big black anti glare panel. I hope that will hide the most.
Other wise I will try to wipe away any wash that gets into the wrong seem line
I will work on it tonight so hope to give an update again tomorrow.

She is looking great Jesper. I too am a bit worried about the change to an all aluminium aircraft. I must admitt I was looking forward to the camo scheme but the NMF should look just as cool. Hats off to you sir on all the mind blowing PE work you've done. She's looking better and better everytime I check this thread.
Great job so far.

Thanks for the nice comments, Hermon. I really appreciate it.
I have now started the aluminium colour scheme. It looks a bit "blank" for an aircraft this size, but I hope post shading with thinned Tamiya Smoke and rivet washes can bring out the details. Hope fully some red stars will also light it up a bit.

Tamiya smoke is great stuff Jesper. I use it on everything I build now days. Also, have you considered painting random panels on the plane different shades of NMF? Slightly darker flaps and maybe an access panel or two would really bring everything into focus. This is just a personal preference only, your jet looks great as it is.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I appreciate it
Arseny, this will be a NMF aircraft. My first with Tamiya paints and in this large scale.
Hermon, Thanks for the tip on the panels etc. I think I will paint the drop tanks and the heat resistant panels next to the guns in a slightly darker aluminium colour.
I have now applied the Tamiya smoke. It did not stand out as much as I expected, but overall I am satisfied.
Furthermore, I will use a new wash method and a new product to try to bring out all the panel lines and rivets. But first I need to paint details and add decals.
More to follow soon......

Thanks for the comment, Carl. I am getting closer and closer to the sound barrier
Some more details painted. Next is the decals and the washes for all the panels and rivets. Things are really moving ahead now.

Thanks, Steffen. I really appreciate it.
I plan to apply decals and washes tonight. Give it a final semi gloss coat Saturday and apply the last finishing touches Sunday.

Jesper, is it my eyes or a trick of the camera? It looks like you toned down the shading from the first set of pictures to the last set. The last two pictures seem to show the panel lines and such as muted or more subtle. The first two pic's looked great but now it looks completely different............way more realistic now. Great job. Now, lets see those decals.

Jesper:
Great looking build. I love the way the cocjpit and seat turned out . What kind of new wash techique are you going to try?

Thanks for the comments, Hermon.
The shading was still wet in the first pictures so that might have made it stand out more. In addition I think the flash can often cause higher contrast than real life. The last set of pictures look closest to the aircraft in real life.

Thanks for the comment on the resin seat. I am also pretty satisfied with it despite it is tto high and forcing me to have an open cockpit. Not a big problem as I was planning to have an open cockpit anyway.
I bought a new product in my local hobby store in Copenhagen. The Pro Modeller dark wash. It has worked out very well for me and I think I might be able to improve the result even further as I get more experience with the product.

I have now finished my SU-7BKL. I am really satisfied with the end result. I tried a lot of new ytechniques on this kit. Especially I got experience on different types of super glue and when to use what type of glue for the PE parts.
Furthermore a new shading technique with Tamiya smoke and Pro Modellers dark wash really added some depth to the overall aluminium finish.
The Kopro kit is really showing its age with soft and "thick" details. Adding a resin seat, resin air ducts, and several sets of Eduard PE helped quite a lot.
Comments welcome

Looks great jesper. The wash worked out really well. Was it applied over future?
or just on the NMF.

Thanks for the comment, JP. I applied the wash over a coat of semi gloss varnish. I also sealed it in place with a coat of semi gloss varnish.

It really is a beautiful job Jesper. All the PE work was a great addition but your paint job and highlighting is what pulled it all together. I also use Pro Modeler washes and I love them.
Again, outstanding job all around.

It really turned out great Jesper. I know that kit can be a bit of a Sows ear, but the PE and paint work really did the trick

Thanks for the comments, Taylor. The resin and PE really did a huge difference for this kit. It is not always the case for some modern kits, but this old beauty really improved with a facelift
