looks pretty good from here, see you got the perforated dive brakes or was that stock on the kit. I built a Dauntless years ago and the dive brakes were PE set.

I drilled them all out. My next Dauntless is from Accurate Miniatures and they're already drilled.

I think you've done an outstanding job, BC. I've got the kit in my stash, but haven't gotten to it yet. I love the paint job, and the weathering is terrific. It looks like it just got back from a tour of duty. I'll be happy if mine turns out half as nice. Great job.

Very nice job! I have the Hasegawa Dauntless in my stock and after seeing your model I decided to build it as soon as I can.
Did you have some problems with the canopy (fiting) if you want to make it closed ?
Did you use the decals for the tail, or it´s a paint job ?

Thanks. The tail was done with the kit decals. I believe the canopy would fit ok closed. Having it completely open, as opposed to partially like I did, was the problem.

:-) Very nice job BC, I have one of these in my stash, with a detail set. You are to be comended for drilling out the dive brakes. :-) I almost feel a group build coming on :-)

:-) Great job !!!, B.C , I am also a very big SBD fan, While surfing the net,
about a year and half ago, I found a site ' Modelexpo-online', they had
6 Accurate Miniatures SBD 1 for about $3.50 each, but you had to buy 6
of em, someday, time permitting I would love to build all the these
planes and hang em on my ceiling like a squadron, that will so cool.
