Help on painting canopy
Posted: Thursday, December 25, 2008 - 01:44 PM UTC
Ive got the revell ch-54a all I like having it complete is the front canopy. My problem is getting the paint to stick to the panel lines. I tried Tamiya xf-62 olive drab could'nt get it to cover very well. I removed that and tried some acrylic craft store paint it did'nt want cover well either. What am I doing wrong. Would dipping it in Future act as a primer.

Are you brush painting? If so, that could be the problem. Tamiya paints aren't really for brush painting and craft paints don't stick well to smooth plastic surfaces. I always tape off the glass areas and spray or airbrush the canopy and have no issues.
Hope that helps. Good luck.
