Hi all -

I was just checking out the Spitfire Vb cockpit in the photo section and noticed that the seatbelt hardware appears black in some of the pictures and brass in others. It does not appear to be steel color.

I remember that most of our webgear hardware was painted black and was made of brass. The webbing itself was a beige color.

Just exactly what were the color of the seatbelts and their fittings?

The belts were a light tan; the eyeholes and friction buckles were tarnished brass.
