Just finished this month and first one for 2009: A 1/48 Tamiya Fw-190D in JV-44 colors and markings.

Built straight OOB and used Mr. Color painrs for the camo.

Hi Tony,

Great job on the Dora. The camo scheme, mottling and weathering is also very accurate according to my sources. I'm planning to do "Rot 1" of JV44 Wurger Staffel for the 190 campaign so I've been doing some research and I'll definitely be using yours as inspiration. Any chance of a photo of the underside? Thanks,
Mike.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the compliment. here is the requested belly shot:

I decided to mask and paint the white stripes for the undersides rather than rely on the kit supplied decals.

Great job! I also have this kit to do and i agree with masking and painting the underside stripes...the kit decals have lots of clear film around the stripes which could cause problems. Masking thins stripes like that is not very hard.

Thanks Tony,

Great job on the stripes;

It's also more realistic as the real aircraft's stripes varied in width and spacing between them.

I can see you're a Gunze Hobby man like myself

Thanks again for sharing,

Mike.

Thanks guys,

To Mike (AirLedge), yes I am a big fan of Gunze Paints as they are available here in Manila. I use their Mr. Color line (lacquer) most of the time as they give me very good results.
