Here's a look ahead to some of the aircraft kits announced for 2009. Caution: some may already be available, but others may have fallen by the wayside:

Small scale kits
1/72 scale kits
1/48 scale kits
Large scale kits

All the best

There certainly should be plenty there to keep you two busy! I'll look forward to your reports.

All I can say is that in 1/48 scale I hope that most of Special Hobby's announced kits do make it to the market, especially the Beaufort!

Quite a few interesting kits there (in the 1/48 scale group) - the Blackburn Firebrand TF Mk IV in particular sounds intriguing:)

Wow! Hobbycrafts Bf 109's - B, C and D in 1:32 - looks interesting. Never really expected those older versions to show up in large scale. I just hope they are a bit more up to shape than their older ones in 1:48.

Interesting will be looking out for the special hobby 1/72 roc and skua.
Won't be holding my breath though. They've been announcing them
since 06.

Fonderie Miniature

6043 Republic F-84F Thunderstreak
6044 Republic RF-84F Thunderflash

It is my understanding that the main plastic for these comes from the old Heller kits - in which case the shape is none too great in the rear fuselage region.

but hopefully that information is wrong - can anyone refute it?

Still the same aircraft kits from WW1 , just re-box . It would really be nice to start seeing different subjects from this time period . However ; the Fokker limited edition looks very tempting !

Hi Rowan

I think the most interesting part at Nuremberg will be to check out the East European companies and what BigT and Hasegawa have up the sleeve. ... maybe Academy and Minicraft too.

IMO the main Hasegawa aircraft News (48) will be the Pete with extra to buy PE set. No idea about Tamiya .. hope they have something in 48scale Aircraft .. maybe a new MiG-29A... would be cool or something British to match the Tilly (but then there is the Lanc).

all the best
