I have a Gloster Meteor Mk 1 from Tamiya, the older one, the kit wich has the Mk 3 wings.
I´m thinking that I would like to do a Mk 3 because I don´t want to make the airbrakes desapear. So the question is:
Does somebody knows if the canopy of the Mk 3 kit will fit in the old Mk 1 kit (both Tmiya) ?
I´m thinking in asking Tamiya if they can send me the canopy, of course paying for it.

:-) I can't say with absolute certainty but I would imagine that it would fit. Without having both kits I wouldn't want to confirm it. The actual back dating of the wings of the Mk I isn't difficult, fit the airbrakes in the closed position, add filler and sand. I do believe though that the main gear doors had bulges and these extended to the wings. I think I have correction details somewhere, If you would like a copy (assuming I can find them) drop me a PM.
Tamiya did re-issue the Mk I Meteor with corrected wings, to their credit, so they might just give you the Mk 3 canopy, or even the corrected wings. You could ask, they can only say no. I have thought about this but as the conversion back to the Mk I is not that difficult I have elected to do it that way. :-)
Let us know how you get on :-)
