It's not the first time Hasegawa is releasing the A6M1 variant of the Zero in 1/48 scale. But it's the first time it is available in injected plastic as a single boxing. This is very good news for those who want to have every variant of the Zero in their collection.

Great review - and thanks for the really useful link to Jim Long's research (he seems to agree with Hasegawa about the air scoop being inside the cowling).

Yes, Jim Long's research on the A6M1 are very interesting. I've built and reviewed some Japanese kits in the past months and always end up reading articles at
www.j-aircraft.com. It seems not only modelers read these pages but manufacturers as well...
