Hi all. Just finished an old kit that I built as a kid in the 1970's. This is the Revell B-17F in 1/72 scale. It is painted with Model Master Acryl paints in the standard green and grey paint scheme.

Had some fit problems with the wings to fuselage and horizontal stabilizers to fuselage, but still enjoyed the kit. Hope you enjoy looking at it. It may not be my best work but it was fun to build. Thanks, Russell.

Hi Siderius,

A good looking Fort!

How about some side views?

Reagan says "woof"!

Hi Russ love the finish of your 1/72 B-17 have you considered having a go at it's 1/48 bigger brother?

Thanks for the compliment. I think I'll stick with 1/72 scale. I like how I can keep my multi-engine stuff in the same scale with my single engine aircraft. Again thanks. Russell

hi russ nice job of the flying fortress, considering it's age and that the kit is awful compared to hasegawa's or academy's. i mainly build 1/72 planes myself, so far i've got 16 spitfires of various marks 3 mustangs, a corsair a focke wulf 190, two stuka's, a horsa glider and a gotha glider to finish... phew... i also build 1/48 planes and 1/35th armor.

Not a problem Russ i suppose sticking to 1/72 helps with keeping storage easier after all some of the 1/48 planes(particularly bombers ) can be quite large and awkward to find space for

No kidding! I'm building a 1/48 B17 and a 1/48 Lancaster and they are huge!

I don't know where I'll store them, probably in the loft. There certainly isn't anywhere I'll be allowed to display them in the human parts of the house. SWMBO will have plenty to say about that.

Thanks everyone for your comments. It isn't as good a kit as the Hasegawa or Academy but it was one I built as a kid in the 1970's! Oh no, I feel old! LOL

I have taken the clear nose off and scrubbed it clean and repainted it, I wasn't paying as close attention as I should of and made some mistakes, I have tried to correct them, although there is just a hint of framing on the nose. Again, thanks. Russell
