Hi to all
My name is Miguel and I’m new to this forum.
My hobby is model airplanes of the WWI, WWII and helicopters at 1 / 48 scale.
Aeroscale long as I know, but not as a forum page, I hope to participate here often, putting the completion of my work.
This is the last over, a P-38L of those in Italy of a Hasegawa 1 / 48 scale.
Regards
Miguel M.

Hi Miguel.
What a great build. I esp like the exhaust heat and oil staining. Can you give some advice on how you achieved this effect?
Looks very realistic.

Hi and welcome Miguel.
Normally people are greeted with "ask around and your questions will be answered" but I guess JP has set the pace, and started asking you in stead.
Nice Lightning. My eyes got drawn to the battery leads behind the cockpit, but she's beautiful all over.

Thank you very much JP.
The exhaust heat and oil stains I did with ink mark Aero Color Professional. First with the tone Brasil Braun (ref. 28 602) is the big spot, then in second place in the center of the stain applied Sepia (ref. 28 603) and finally there are small touches with a grey clear (I used the Tamiya JN Grey - ref. XF-12), but you can use another.

Miguel, that's an amazing job. I have built this kit myself and the fit on mine wasn't great. Yours however looks exceptional. The weathering you've done is beautiful.....and the exhaust stains are very realistic. Nice job all around.

Miguel,
You have a great looking model--hope to see more!
Your NMF (natural metal finish) is excellent. Especially the polished metal discs on the nacelles to view the landing gear!
I see no seam lines--hard to achieve with NMF! Super job!
Yes, the weathering is well done. The exhaust could be more extensive and feathered out. Note that it covers the boom behind the exhaust, even soils the radiators:

The exhaust pattern could vary, even on the same plane. It would depend on how long the bird has been upon the wing, too:

Again, a great model!

Nicely done. I really like the way your NMF came out, and a real nice touch with the Italian flag draped over the front of the wing. Very nicely done.
