Hello Everyone.
I had a touch of trouble with the Hellcat I am just about finished in my build-log. The star and bar on the top of the wing got destroyed in a strange event that hasn't happened to me for many many moons.. the decal self-destructed when I tried to apply it to the model. It was sliding easily on the backing paper, I decided to try the puddle of Future method, but as soon as I got it down and went to adjust it it tore itself to pieces for some unknown reason. Maybe the Future had dried a little or something but the decal got ruined.
So my humble request is if anyone out there has a spare star and bar the right size for this spot, or maybe a full Hellcat F6F-5N kit they want to get rid of, or a suggestion for a decal sheet I can source the correct size item off, please drop
me a line.
Thanks
Warren

Hi Warren.
What are the measurements for the star and bar?
The width, and possibly the diameter of the circle too, should be enough to give people a good idea of what to look for in the spares box.

Hi lampie..
Measurements are approx 73mm times 35mm... That is taken from the one on the bottom of the wing. And there is no blue in the decal. It is just white.
Cheers

Thanks to all those who looked but I solved my problem by doing what they did originally.. painting the marking. I masked it up and after a little touch up it has come out pretty well for my first marking mask-up.
Thanks again..
