Looking as some PE sets I have from Part and Eduard, I was wondering how the original art work comes to be. Do they have blueprints that some draughtsman works up or are they artistic interpretations of photographs. I know the mechanical process once the art work is done, but that's it. Do they make mockups of a part to see if it works before adding that part to the fret? I would love to see how they work.

modern PE are designed in CAD, in order for the parts to precisely fit the underlying plastic kits, which themselves are, nowadays, designed in CAD as well... (this according to my source at Trumpeter)
