Got the wings on, not the greatest fit ever. Had to shim the port wing slightly, to avoid a step at the join, then a bit of sanding in the right places to get the joints as close as possible. Glued the rear joint and let it dry first, then the front. When that was dry I glued the middle sections. It was not possible to eliminate gaps completely so filler was required. There was detail that I did want to loose so I used tape to protect it while I applied the filler:
This is the rear seam, very difficult, but not imposible to clean up. It later recieved the masking tape filler treatment
This shows the blanking piece for the 12 gun version and the gun insert. There fit is not the best, but they have been sanded to the proper profile and the panel lines re-scribed
This is the underside of the same wing. Note the step at the front join
Here you can see the gap in the port wing joint
To save the detail. First lay a piece of tape over the join, cut along the join to give a profile to each half of the tape
Move the 2 halves of tape apart, slightly
Slap on the filler
No finess required and it's stress free :-)
Remove the tape. Leaves a thin line of filler
Put masking tape back around the filler, now to protect the detail while sanding
This process took all of 20 minutes, for both wings, including taking the pics. The time for sanding is reduced aswell, because there is alot less to sand. No detail was harmed during this process :-)
The tailplanes have also been attached. Squeezed out melted plastic was the means to fill the gaps of these better fitting pieces. :-) Look out all those 109s, Hurri's coming to get you :-)

Hey holdfast, coming along nicely. Eventhough I know almost zilch about aircraft, I know a good tip when I see one! You aircraft guys are useful for somethings then !!! #:-)
Tips like this is why I still look in on aircraft talk. Nice one!!

Hold:
I've never built in a plane in my life, but I do make it a point to view all of them posted here at Armorama, and really enjoy the quality work that is provided.
You aircraft people have my respect regarding the required finesse with filling, panel lines, canopies, and more, (compared to slapping OD and mud onto a hunk of metal like me :-) )
Your tip on the filling/tape seam is just great stuff. Someday, after a few of my favorite beverages, I'll order a plane, and after a few more, maybe start to build it. Lots of armor to do first however!
Thanks for the pics, good luck with your build and keep us posted.

Holdfast
The Hurricane looks great so far. I never could get the hang of cockpit detailing, too many dials, I never put them all in the correct places.

Hi Holdfast

"Of course, here in the Luftwaffe, we don't need any filler in our superior wing-roots! Just wait until we meet over Biggin On The Bump... " Adolf!
All the best
