Hi guys, I've got hold of a set of Fast Frames from True Details and have never used them before. Does anybody have any advice or tips on their use? Any problem areas to watch for? I am terrible at masking cockpit canopies so I thought I would give them a try.
Thanks in advance
Martin

They work great. Definitely use the soapy water that they recommend.

I really really love using fast frames on my aircraft. If there are fast frames available, I would use them instead of parafilm.

Not only are they easy to use but they are lasting as well. There was the fear, mine that is that they may let go after a few years or at least start to dog ear (corners lifting up ), but this has not been the case have 4 aircraft approaching 4 years old with still no problems.
I dust them very carefully. This Tamiya Zero in the photo was completed in 1999.

The fit for the intended kit has been flawless for me. The price is right. Though lately I've been using EZ mask as well.

Here is an idea that I use - because I have used them and had some problems over time with the frames coming up off of the radii at the tops of canopies...

Instead of using the "frames," take the pieces inside each section of each frame that you are supposed to discard, and use these pieces as canopy masks. Apply them, they are perfectly sized to each section of your windscreen and canopy. Paint the glass, then remove these pieces. Voila! No problems with lifting, and perfectly masked canopies.
