Have to get to the Post Office today to pick up my JI- you have to sign for it and we missed the opportunity. Ordered last Thursday- made it to my door on Monday! Still not in my hot little hands...

I have been giving the kits a total examination. I have no idea which one to start with. The SE5a has two fuselages. One with and one with out wrinkled fabric. The wrinkled one will no doubt elicit some complaints about it being overdone. But I think it really will look good with some paint on it.

Should we do a Wingnut Wings Group Build? One reminiscent of the Roden build we recently finished here on Aeroscale.

I should have ordered the Junkers also.

Well, when the next batch is available, I will provide some economic stimulus to the NZ economy.

Has anyone in the UK received their kits yet...mine has been sitting in clearance here since the 12th......10 days.... 6 days to order process and ship as far as the UK then over 10 to clear customs...kin rediculous!

I agree with Stephen on the modelling law though..... it's fate.

Hi Keith, been going through the same thing but just recieved a letter from parcel force to say that its with them for me to collect and pay the VAT and their handling charge
Now the VAT I understand but the handling charge?

Now to find the time to pick it up

I was amazed at how fast I received the LVG I ordered it on Wed. 4/15 and received it here in rural south Louisiana by registered mail on Mon. 4.20! This kit is all it was advertised to be.

I don't normally go for WWI birds but I have to say, I just ordered one of each. I'll figure out later where I am going to put them when I do get around to building them. Usually I build WWII warbirds and armor, but these kits made me want to build them. Now I am just waiting to see what they are going to want for the Gotha! I have the honor of corrupting the fellow in charge of plastic kits at my LHS. Usually it is Jim saying, "Did you see what is coming out?", "Did you see what we've got in?". I got to go in the other day and say "Jim, did, you see the latest in WWI birds?". He had not. Woo hoo. Got another one interested in what these guys have to offer.
Cheers

I read an article about Peter Jackson's museum a couple of years ago. Knights of the Skies I think? Has anyone visited it?

Ted

The Museum is in Omaka, in the Northern part of the South Island. I visited it a couple of years ago and it is impressive. Weta Workshops have done the layout of 1 to 1 scenes for the aircraft. They hold an airshow with the collections airworthy aircraft. I am an armour/softskin man however the museum was awesome and I can't wait for the resin figures to come out. Also thought about doing a WW1 aircraft it was that good. infact the box art on the RE * is almost the same as the scene in the Museum.

I do have photo's of the displays in the museum if you are interested.

No.

I spoke to my LHS owner. He informed me there is no US importer yet.

I attended the IPMS Nationals in Wellington and, as the feature shows, Wingnuts had a stall there. Before leaving for Wellington I reminded myself that I did not need any more Armour kits nor figures,as the shelves are stacked with my stash. Unfortunately, one look at the quaility of the wingnut kits lead me to purchasing the Bristol fighter, with a little salesmanship from the helpful crew from wingnuts. I would say that with the new realease for next year and the fine test shots, I will be purchasing another one next year. Awesome kits.
